Project facts

We developed a landing page for Invisible War, an online game in the military-economic simulator genre with strategy elements. Our main task was to ensure that the landing page would immediately immerse users in the game’s atmosphere and highlight its most exciting gameplay features. How did we achieve this? We’ll show you in this case study.

“Every choice has consequences” — the essence of the game

First, a few words about the game itself: Invisible War is an open-world online strategy game where players create and manage private military companies (PMCs) and battle rivals for territorial control.

The game’s slogan is “Every choice has consequences.” This is justified — every decision impacts the overall course of the game and opponents’ actions. Players experience an adrenaline rush as decisions must be made quickly, and mistakes can be costly.

Other features of Invisible War:

    • soldiers with unique characteristics;
    • a vast selection of gear and combat equipment;
    • ability to create a squad tailored to specific missions;
    • mission recordings for analysis and strategy optimization.

The game is aimed at young men who are passionate about military themes and strategy games. Invisible War is currently under development.

The client wanted to present the project to investors and asked us to create an impressive landing page showcasing the game’s key advantages.

Another goal of the landing page was to gather statistics on potential players to gauge interest before release.

By the way, we also designed Invisible War’s visual identity and style — more on that next time.

Our tasks for this project

For the Invisible War landing page, our responsibilities included:

Project tasks

We built the landing page using Tilda, a convenient website builder with all the necessary tools — saving us time and budget on custom development. We’ve used Tilda for other projects as well, such as the landing page for the MedEquip medtech startup.

Our team included graphic designers, 3D and motion designers, a project manager, a copywriter, and a business analyst.

Choosing the best concept

The client wanted a hero page with a video that would instantly immerse players in the game world and provide a general visual impression.

We created three storyboard concepts and presented them to the client so they could choose the best one.

Concept #1: A first-person perspective

This version features a first-person camera movement that gradually zooms out to reveal a panoramic battle scene from above.

Concept #1 storyboard

This approach adds dynamism and a sense of presence to the video

Concept #2: Top-down view with interactivity

Here, the camera shows the game world from above. A plane enters the frame, allowing the player to “drop” a bomb on a pre-set target.

Concept #2 storyboard

This interactive element would give players a taste of the game’s mechanics right from the landing page

Concept #3: The scale of war

For the third concept, we aimed to impress players with the sheer scale of battles, showing that conflicts could unfold anywhere in the world.

Concept #3 storyboard

Instead of a first-person view or an aerial perspective, we used a cosmic viewpoint, as if looking at the battles from space

After discussing all three ideas with the client, we decided to combine elements from the first and third concepts — starting with a first-person view and then transitioning to a wide-angle view of the Earth from space.

Results

The video automatically plays when users enter the site. However, during testing, we discovered that ad-blocking extensions were preventing the video from playing. To fix this, we added a Play button in the center of the screen that only appears when an ad blocker is enabled. In all other cases, the video plays automatically without extra elements.

After the video, the landing page provides a detailed breakdown of the game’s features, accompanied by gameplay animations.

At the bottom of the page, we added a call-to-action button that allows players to sign up for updates by entering their email.

The client was satisfied with the results. Since we just completed the project, it’s too early to measure the full impact. However, we’re confident that the landing page will attract a strong interest in Invisible War.
